Alabama New Principal Mentoring Program
The Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) and the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools (CLAS) have partnered to provide all new principals in the state with one-on-one mentoring support from a trained mentor. The Alabama New Principal Mentoring Program provides a long-term relationship between a new principal mentee and a trained principal mentor who fosters their professional, academic, and personal development.
What It Is

Fosters the professional, academic, or personal development of the principal mentee
Duration
Two consecutive years for all new principals

New Principal Mentoring Program Request Form
Superintendents and district administrators may request state approval for alternative options for new principal mentoring program selection and/or implementation. To request approval, the Principal Act New Principal Mentoring Program Request Form must be completed through DocuSign
no later than July 31, 2024.
